Poverty Simulation
Do you have what it takes to survive a "month" in poverty?
The Poverty Simulation is a role-playing experience that offers the opportunity to learn more about the realities of living in conditions of poverty.
It is a simulation, not a game. Participants enter the simulation with a new identity and family profile. The task of the "families" is to provide for basic necessities and shelter during the course of four 15-minute weeks. Participants experience poverty compressed into the real-time of the simulation (about 1 ½ hours total). Afterwards in the debriefing, they share insights of extraordinary vividness and intensity.
