DESCRIPTION:Do you have what it takes to survive a "month" in poverty?\n\n\n\nThe Poverty Simulation is a role-playing experience that offers the  opportunity to learn more about the realities of living in conditions of poverty.\n\n\n\nIt is a simulation\, not a game. Participants enter the simulation with a new identity and family profile. The task of the "families" is to provide for basic necessities and shelter during the course of four 15-minute weeks. Participants experience poverty compressed into the real-time of the simulation (about 1   hours  total). Afterwards in the debriefing\, they share insights of extraordinary vividness and intensity.\n\n\n\nFacilitated by: East Missouri Action Agency\n\n\n\nThis project/program Is funded 100% wlh federal funds recellled from 1M U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provided by the Missouri Department of Social Services.
