Community leaders, elected officials, business representatives, and residents gathered this morning at Mineral Area College’s Cardinal Center – Industry & Technology Center for the 2026 State of St. Francois County Address.
The annual event was hosted in partnership by the Chambers of Commerce of Bismarck, Bonne Terre, Desloge, Farmington, and Park Hills–Leadington. Designed to provide a comprehensive overview of progress and priorities across the county, the program featured updates from municipal, county, and educational leaders. The event was also broadcast live by local radio stations, extending access to residents throughout the region.
Presentations were delivered by representatives from Mineral Area College and the cities of Bismarck, Bonne Terre, Desloge, Farmington, Park Hills, and Leadington. Updates included economic development activity, infrastructure investments, workforce initiatives, housing growth, public safety improvements, and strategic planning efforts for the coming year.
State Senator Mike Henderson was also recognized for his continued legislative support of the region, highlighting the importance of state and local collaboration in advancing community initiatives.
St. Francois County Presiding Commissioner Harold Gallaher provided a county-wide overview, emphasizing fiscal responsibility, infrastructure planning, and cooperative efforts among municipalities to ensure sustainable growth throughout St. Francois County.
The State of the County Address continues to serve as an important forum for transparency, communication, and partnership among local governments, educational institutions, and the business community. By bringing leaders together in one setting, the event reinforces a shared commitment to economic vitality and long-term success across all communities within St. Francois County.
