Mineral Area Council on the Arts will bring back the legendary collaboration of three country music titans on Nov. 2.
“The Highwaymen Live,” a tribute band featuring the music of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 at Farmington’s Centene Center. Tickets are $18.50 for reserved seating and are available at the Farmington Civic Center at #2 Black Knight Drive in Farmington, or by calling (573) 756-0900 for charge by phone with Visa, Mastercard or Discover. The show is sponsored by Mineral Area Council on the Arts and First State Community Bank.
Danielle Basler, arts council executive director, said the tribute band sells out regularly in venues throughout the U.S. and Canada. “We’re excited to have secured them for a local performance,” she said. “Anyone who loves country will want to get their tickets early to guarantee a seat.”
“The Highwaymen” features Michael Moore as Willie Nelson, Bob Gill as Waylon Jennings, and Daryl Weyman as Johnny Cash. The group has regularly played the Memories Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., as well as private and public venues throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“This trio will have your toes tapping to all your honky-tonk favorites, including ‘Ring of Fire,’ ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ and ‘On the Road Again,’” she said. “Last year’s Beatles tribute concert was so well-received, and really, the three musicians featured will be performing pieces that are just as revolutionary to the country genre of music.”
