The new Industry and Technology Center expansion will bring automotive technology training to the Park Hills campus, addressing the regional demand for skilled technicians. The Automotive Technology program, set to begin this fall, will focus on Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the workforce.
Dr. Keith Zoromski, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, highlighted the program's significance in meeting local employment needs. "The Automotive Technology program furthers our institutional mission by providing students with quality, affordable education and career development opportunities in a safe, professional environment," said Zoromski.
The Cardinal Center, a key feature of the expansion, offers flexible seating for up to 250 people and advanced audio-visual capabilities, making it an ideal venue for both college and community events. Information about renting the Cardinal Center will be available during the ribbon-cutting event.
This expansion completes the Industry and Technology Center, the cornerstone of the MAC Tech Complex, which also includes the William Dickerson Welding Technology Center and HVAC Technologies Center. Together, these facilities provide over 100,000 square feet dedicated to preparing students for successful careers in technical fields.
"We're thrilled to see the completion of the Industry and Technology Center expansion," said Gilgour. "The Automotive Technology program, along with other MAC Tech programs, will bring economic benefits to the region by providing students with greater access to quality postsecondary career and technical education without leaving the area."
The community is invited to join the celebration, tour the new facilities, and learn more about the exciting opportunities available at Mineral Area College.
