Modern medicine has extended our life expectancy, which means we need to plan for longevity. He explains the three phases of retirement: go-go, slow-go, and no-go years. Thanks to advances in our thinking, retirement can mean much healthier decades with greater community involvement and even another career. Living longer also requires long-term financial decisions on things like annuities with guaranteed lifetime payouts and how to fund an eventual need for care as we age.
