Serenity Hospice Care Hosts Nick Layton Memorial Blood Drive
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes. One such hero passed away in March of 2008, as the result of injuries he sustained in a car accident. His name was Nick Layton. Nick was a loving father and husband, a musician, and an ordained deacon at First Baptist Church of Desloge. He was known by many in the community and greatly missed.
Serenity HospiceCare is pleased to offer you a chance to be a hero and to honor Nick Layton’s memory by giving the life-saving gift of blood at the 9th Annual Nick Layton Memorial Blood Drive. Monday, April 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the American Red Cross will accept blood donations at Serenity Hospice Care, 5272 Flat River Road, Park Hills, at the entrance to Mineral Area College.
Shelley Layton, Executive Director of Serenity Hospice Care, says of her late husband, “Nick was taken from us so young, but his smile and song continue on in his young daughters.”
To make an appointment, please visit redcrossblood.org (Sponsor code: NickLayton), or call the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Please bring a photo ID with you to the blood drive.
