Project Backpack for Christmas

In the 24th District, there are currently over 475 children and teens in the Foster Care Program.  Due to circumstances beyond their control, when many of these children are removed from their homes they are only allowed to take the clothes on their backs.

"Project Backpack" helps these children transition into a new home by providing them with the "fresh start" items they need.

Beginning Friday, December 1st and ending Sunday, December 31st for every item you donate, the Park Hills Public Library will forgive $1.00 in overdue fines.

Preferred Items Requested:  

• Backpacks
• Toothbrush
• Toothpaste
• Deodorant
• Shampoo
• Soap
• Hair brush/comb
• New/Gently Used Clothing for All Ages
• Undergarments/Socks
• Gift Card for Shoes
• Feminine Products
• Baby Care Products
• Diapers
• Bottles
• Pacifiers
• Teddy Bear/Stuffed Animals
• Night Light
• Age Appropriate Books
• School Supplies for School Aged Children
• Any item you find to be useful or soothing. 

You may also donate a backpack filled with items for a specific gender or age, we ask that you please label when donating. We ask that all personal care items, undergarments, and socks be new and unopened but, clothing can be gently worn. 

Anyone can donate, you don't have to owe fines!!
