Coffee With A Doc - Dealing With Elderly Depression
Dealing with Elderly Depression
Statistics say that one in every four senior adults suffers from depression. This figure doesn’t include those who suffer from dementia and other mental illnesses. The good news is, depression is very treatable and there’s help available.
Dr. Subedi will walk us through the most common problems that affect the mental health of seniors. How depression can affect us, and how early diagnosis and treatment can improve the quality of their life.
Dr. Subedi is a geriatric psychiatrist who specializes in mood disorders and dementia in the elderly. He earned his medical degree from University of Science and Technology (USTC) in Bangladesh. He completed his residency and a fellowship at St. Louis University Hospital.
Dr. Subedi sees patients through BJC Behavioral Health, as well as inpatients at Parkland Health Center’s Senior Support.
