Join the Missouri Women Owning Woodlands chapter and University of Missouri Extension for a guided Spring Tree Identification Hike on May 9, 2026, at St. Joe State Park in Park Hills.
Led by MU Extension Natural Resources Field Specialist Sarah Higgins, this educational outdoor experience will focus on identifying common Missouri tree species during the spring season. Participants will learn to recognize trees using key characteristics such as leaves, flowers, bark, and twigs.
The hike will take place along the Lakeview Trail and is designed for individuals of all experience levels who have an interest in nature, forestry, or simply enjoying the outdoors. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge while exploring one of the area’s scenic natural spaces.
