Missouri Community Improvement Industries, Inc. (MCII) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sheltered workshop dedicated to providing dignified, meaningful employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Founded in 1975, MCII helps employees develop their abilities, build confidence, earn income, and contribute to their community through rewarding employment.

MCII also serves as a reliable outsourcing resource for businesses and industries throughout the region. Its skilled workforce provides assembly, reassembly, packaging, shrink wrapping, blister packaging, heat sealing, hot gluing, labeling, sorting, inspection, order fulfillment, carton setup, display assembly, and other specialty production services. By contracting projects through MCII, businesses can receive quality workmanship and dependable turnaround while supporting employment opportunities for adults with disabilities.

MCII operates from a 40,000-square-foot facility featuring an enclosed inspection room, a separate warehouse area, five truck bays, and ground-level loading and unloading access. Trained supervision, specialized equipment, and a strong commitment to quality allow the organization to accommodate projects of varying sizes and requirements.

MCII is certified by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to operate as a sheltered workshop. Employees are certified as eligible through the Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

The organization also operates Dix Garden Center by MCII, a seasonal garden center offering vegetable plants, flowering plants, hanging baskets, perennials, and other garden favorites. Through its production services, garden center, community partnerships, and generous donors, MCII continues its mission of creating meaningful employment and celebrating the abilities of every worker.
