Mineral Area College’s Music Department will once again stage its annual Winter Choral Concert, featuring holiday favorites and a work by John Rutter at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at First Baptist Church of Farmington located on A Street off of Karsch Boulevard.
All MAC choral ensembles are involved, including the MAC Singers, Chamber Singers and Community Singers.
A collaborative effort will feature select winter and holiday carols, as well as the main performance of the evening, John Rutter's “Gloria,” featuring a chamber brass, percussion and organ ensemble. A student brass quintet will also play seasonal repertoire.
MAC Director of Choral Activities Harry Cecil said the choirs will sing Christmas carols such as "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," “O Come All Ye Faithful” and other holiday favorites.
"The holidays always grant us the opportunity to sing some of the most wonderful music during the most wonderful time of year. Regardless of the season, musically it’s some of the best scored songs you’ll hear all year,” Cecil said. “Joining us that Friday is a great way to usher in the Christmas season!"
