St. Joe State Park Invites You to Celebrate the Beginning of 2015 with First Day hikes on January 1st!
First Day Hikes are promoted by America's State Parks, and you will be joining hikers from all 50 states that are beginning the New Year connecting to the outdoors by taking a healthy hike.
The trail is approximately 4 miles and the hike should last approximately 3 hours.
Hikers will meet at Equestrian Parking Lot at 10:00 a.m. The strenuous walking trail is a 4 mile loop with uphill climbs and very rocky surfaces. A 20-30 minute stop for a light lunch/snack will be taken at the top of the hill. Wear good sturdy shoes for ankle support and dress for the weather... Discussion of the lead mining history of the park will also be presented.
Please call 573-431-6226 to let us know if you plan to attend, or if you have questions.
