"One in ten children in Missouri have life-threatening asthma and many children have allergies that may be triggered by bugs\, mold or hidden or invisible dangers"\, reports Rebecca Blocker\, Housing\, Environment and Healthy Homes Specialist with University of University Extension. \n\nA free child care provider workshop on December 14 will help you find and control common asthma triggers and allergens such as dust mites\, pests\, molds\, irritants and deadly invisible gasses including radon and carbon monoxide that may impact the health and safety your children. \n\n \n\nThe training provides two CEU credits for child care directors and staff to fulfill their 2015 educational requirements. Parents\, Grandparents and anyone interested in children's health and safety is also invited to attend. Participants will learn:\n\n\n A simple trick to reduce dust mites hiding in stuffed toys\, bedding\, and pillows\,\n How to easily remove the three things that invite cockroaches and pests inside - without using chemicals\,\n Where to look for sources of mold and moisture problems and how to safely correct them.\n\n\nThe program will be Monday\, December 14\, 2015\, from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at the University Extension Center\, 255 Market Street\, Ste.
