Every day\, patients are helped by donors who give at blood drives coordinated by generous volunteers. Below are just a few examples of patients Red Cross blood drive coordinators recently may have helped:\n\n\n \n A trauma patient needed 66 units of red blood cells\, eight units of platelets and 112 units of plasma.\n \n A heart patient was given more than 60 units of red blood cells.\n \n A two-year-old boy received several units of red blood cells\, platelets and plasma to help ward off bacterial meningitis.\n \n A liver transplant patient required transfusions of red blood cells.\n \n A heart surgery patient required 150 units of cryoprecipitate.\n\nPlease come out and donate!
