DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the July Investor Meeting on Tuesday\, July 16\, 2019\, at\, 12:00 p.m. at THE CARDINAL'S NEST  inside the MINERAL AREA COLLEGE FIELD HOUSE.\n\n\n\nRESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!\nThis month we will be joined by Marvin Brannum\, Case Manager II\, Restorative Justice\, and FIREtv Studio Coordinator who will be talking to us about the OASIS and the Restorative Justice Program.\n\n\n\nAbout Marvin & OASIS:\n\nMarvin Brannum began his career with the Department of Corrections in December of 1996 as a Correctional Officer. He was promoted to Classification Assistant in 2014\, followed by a promotion to his current position as Case Manager in 2015.\n\n \n\nOffenders Assisting Society by Inventing Solutions is the Restorative Justice Organization (RJO) at the Farmington Correctional Center (FCC). Restorative Justice (RJ) is a voluntary program wherein offenders recognize their past choices or actions which have hurt\, damaged\, or harmed society. In this program\, they actively engage in activities to give back to the community in efforts to restore\, in part\, justice for what they have done.\n\n\n\nOASIS is a massive RJ program\; offender ran\; all items are grown\, or made by offenders. RJ at FCC has over 300 offenders giving back. This past year offenders donated over 2600 items\, 48\,400 hours of service\, and 8\,496 pounds of produce to area service agencies\, schools\, food pantries\, and kitchens\, plus thousands of dollars in cash donations. \n\n \n\nSome of the items made in the Restorative Justice Program include quilts\, Afghans\, hat and scarf sets\, paintings\, rag rugs\, fidget blankets\, fidget animals\, weighted blankets\, weighted scarves\, and weighted animals.\n\nOur July Business Spotlight is on Edward Jones - Ken Douglas & Allison Kennon!\n\n\n\nNew for 2019 - 50/50 Drawing! Be sure to bring a $1 to be entered for a chance to win some cash!\n\n\n\nMonthly investor meetings provide Chamber investors with a variety of information through guest speakers.  Topics range from small business information to governmental issues and assistance to community interests.  Monthly meetings keep investors abreast of current chamber happenings and provide an excellent networking opportunity.
