DESCRIPTION:Mineral Area Council on the Arts is bringing Sharon Bebout Carr to the Fine Arts Theater on Mineral Area College's Park Hills campus for a one-woman show\, "The Kitchen Table." The performance is set for 7 p.m.\, Saturday\, Nov. 12.\n\n \n\nTickets are $5 and may be purchased online via Eventbrite.com\, at the Mineral Area College Bookstore\, and at the door.\n\n \n\nCarr is a coal miner's daughter who grew up in the hills of western Kentucky.  Stories and a love for the written word have always been a part of her life\, and she said she remembers listening to her father tell stories about his nights underground in the coal mines.\n\n \n\n"Before I could read\, daddy would read to me from his favorite authors--Kipling\, Tolstoy\, Shakespeare\," she said. "Those moments with my father are indelibly woven into my life and into the way I approach both writing and performance."\n\n \n\nCentered around the experiences of a coal mining family\, "The Kitchen Table" is an original one-person show about identity\, family\, memory and loss.
