Only 30 poles are available and will be assigned on a first-come\, first-served basis.\n\n\nContest Rules & Guidelines\n\nEligibility\n\nOpen to businesses\, organizations\, groups\, and residents.\n\nMembership in the Chamber or DPHA is not required.\n\n This is a great way to promote your business or organization!\n\n\nCategories\n\n\n \n People's Choice: Determined by public votes via Facebook\; includes all entries.\n \n \n Most Traditional: Classic scarecrows made primarily of straw to - keep crows from the corn.\n \n \n Most Creative: Any theme-fairytales\, books\, TV\, movies\, celebrities\, etc.materials other than straw are welcome.\n \n \n Best Portrayal of an Entity: Must clearly represent a local business\, organization\, or group.\n \n\n\n\nEntry Fee\n\nFREE!\n\nTo participate\, entrants must:\n\n\n \n Register with the Chamber.\n \n \n Place their scarecrow on display.\n \n \n Email a clear photo of their entry to assistant@phlcoc.net no later than October 14\, 2025 (noon).\n \n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n \n Eligible scarecrows must be within Park Hills city limits.\n \n \n Displays may be placed:\n\n \n \n In front of your business/organization\, OR\n \n \n On one of the 30 designated light poles along the 100\, 200\, and 300 blocks of West Main Street.\n \n \n \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\nParticipants must register with the Chamber for eligibility.\n\nA high-resolution photo of your scarecrow is required by October 14\, 2025\, at noon.\n\n Light pole assignments will be made on a first-come\, first-served basis.\n\nClick here for a numbered map of available light poles.\n\n\nIMPORTANT Construction Guidelines\n\n\n \n Scarecrows must be family-friendly: whimsical\, humorous\, mischievous\, or lovable.\n \n \n No sharp objects\, political\, religious\, or controversial themes allowed.\n \n \n Vertical supports are required for pole displays\; freestanding scarecrows are permitted only in front of businesses.\n \n \n Displays must not block sidewalks\, crosswalks\, or entryways.\n \n \n Scarecrows must be durable - securely fastened to withstand wind\, rain\, and possibly snow. Entrants are fully responsible for safety and security.\n \n \n All decorations must be firmly attached.\n \n \n Participants must maintain their displays.
